Marketing and Publicity Director (Al Udeid)

Duties

Manages the marketing and publicity programs for all Services Squadron activities. Develops surveys and performs marketing analysis to identify needs and wants of a varied audience. Develops follow-on surveys for targeted markets, and survey customer satisfaction at least once a year. Determines the overall value of the results and reports to the appropriate manager with recommendations from analysis. Analyzes and interprets a variety of information to assist managers on widely differing problems such as forecasting sales, selecting product designs, facility location, transportation, and determines what markets can be targeted and how. Develops and recommends marketing and publicity plans, policies, procedures, strategies, and programs using established principles and pertinent regulations. Conducts evaluation of programs and services implemented through market research to determine effectiveness, and provides feedback and recommends improvements to managers. Determines ways to improve or introduce new programs, procedures, and activities to meet the expressed desire of the market as identified in market studies. Creates and recommends promotional programs to increase sales in revenue-generating activities. Determines the promotion mix for each activity, provides advertising media and implements promotional programs for Service’s activities. Plans and prepares advertisements for publication in newspapers, billboards displays, etc., to inform customers on programs and services. Works with activity managers on the design and implementation of product merchandising and services. Creates brochures and flyers for activities and special events. Serves as the commercial sponsorship program focal point for all unsolicited and solicited commercial sponsorship ventures. Promotes corporate sponsorship opportunities through the local business community. Monitors and coordinates all phases of sponsored events and programs. Evaluates companies offering controversial products and services for appropriateness and potential adverse public reaction. Ensures requests are appropriate and are within the directives/guidance of sponsorship programs. Develops annual budget and resource requirements to meet program objectives. Maintains accountability for APF and NAF property assigned. Provides public affairs and public relations services for the Services Squadron with other base agencies.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Three years of progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided a general knowledge of marketing principles and practices. SPECIALIZED: Experience must include one year of experience which demonstrates the ability to develop, conduct and analyze market research information, compose written material, conduct verbal/oral presentations, and develop advertising copy. Must have ability to read, write and speak English. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public. A four year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for three years of basic experience. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education
