Healthcare Access Manager

The Healthcare Access Manager (HAM) is a customer facing role with an extension of market access, engaging with payers, institutions, HCPs and other key stakeholders to deliver value-based messages of Pfizer medicines, and enhance access through affordability programs and innovative healthcare solutions and partnerships.

  • Establishes relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers to understand payers’ unmet needs​ and coordinate commercial & access long-term business objectives to maximize access.
  • Creates a customized value proposition, based on a deep understanding of payer needs to secure access for new product launches​, formulary inclusions, value added programs​ (e.g. disease awareness and education), and/or commercial agreement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads interactions with assigned sub-national payer accounts to establish and build strong long-term relationships beyond portfolio access.
  • Responsible for pricing and non-pricing proposals for assigned sub-national payer accounts to achieve formulary inclusion of Pfizer products.
  • Understands access and pricing conditions for key Pfizer and competitor products in assigned sub-national payer accounts.
  • Maps all assigned sub-national payer accounts by applying given prioritization criteria.
  • Develops and execute an annual strategic account plan for assigned sub-national payer accounts with , product-specific and relationship building targets, adjusting as needed based on progress.
  • Arranges and realizes payer engagement plans to achieve the defined strategic goals in alignment with CH&V and NAM team.
  • Brings insights on payer needs, interests, and decision-making process to support the CH&V Product Strategist in the development of the local strategy.
  • Coordinates with CH&V Product Strategist to achieve formulary inclusion of Pfizer products in assigned sub-national payer accounts.
  • Negotiates on behalf of Pfizer to enable portfolio access achieving win-win solutions with payers.
  • Optimizes portfolio offer in assigned sub-national payer accounts by developing and implementing innovative contracts.
  • Arranges educational events between payers and KOLs, advisory meetings and other interactions to achieve strategic goals.
  • Anticipates, mitigates, and manages risks to both Pfizer and assigned sub-national payer accounts.
  • Collaborates with any other Pfizer platform and support functions as well as field colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency in approach and messages regarding assigned sub-national payer accounts.

  • Supports the development and implementation of strategies tailored to assigned sub-national payer accounts, with product-specific and relationship building goals.
  • Maintains a database of pricing and access offers, performance, and competitive intelligence for assigned sub-national payer accounts to enable gathering of historical insights and inform successful future access strategies.
  • Accelerate access timelines of Pfizer breakthrough in the main accounts.

  • Reports to H&V Lead.
  • Connection to SMEs – Proactive.
  • Works in close collaboration with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales/Commercial/Tender Team, Health &Value, Global Commercial Operations, Customer Analytic and Insights, Pfizer Global Supply and Finance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare science (or equivalent)/Business Management degree is an advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of sales and commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • 2 to 3 years of Market Access Experience or successful completion of development assignment in Health & Value.
  • Multiple Therapeutic Area experience is an advantage.
  • Experience of local laws & regulations and reimbursement process is preferred.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Arabic is an advantage.

Job Purpose:

The Senior Medical Representative is responsible for maximizing the sales of products of I&I portfolio through the different sales & promotion activities in Qatar

Key Accountabilities:

  • Visiting physicians to help them manage their patient’s disease using Pfizer products.
  • Engaging the HCPs virtually and Face to face.
  • Distribute knowledge using guidelines through product samples, marketing literature, clinical trials related to his/her products to help physicians and other healthcare professionals take the best decisions.
  • Follow-up with HCPs (KOLs, physicians, pharmacists, or any other party having impact on the business), to gather feedback and questions regarding experience with Pfizer products.
  • Providing approved information to HCPs on Pfizer products, e.g. proper medical usage, dosage amounts and side effects.
  • Enlisting Pfizer products in the formulary of institutions.
  • Providing feedback to category manager/Assistant on customer requests, responses to promotions and product access. Also update on changes in the health care system or hospital structure.
  • Involved in the pre preparation of the marketing campaign through giving a feedback to the marketing team on what’s the real market, customers’ needs.
  • Follow up of stock, consumption and ordering process specially in government sector and institutions.
  • Attending seminars and participate in setting up sales demonstration and exhibition.
  • Organizing AV activities in his/her area.
  • Reporting visits and other activities using Veeva.
  • Attending regular sales meetings with Category Manager, general meetings, and cycle meetings.
  • Preparing short term POA restricted to his/her area and products.
  • Presenting reports according to Category Manager recommendations and market needs.

  • Execute the activities (international, regional, and local conferences, workshops) done by the marketing, medical department to engage his/her customers.
  • Monthly report for sales, activities, market feedback, threats & opportunities.
  • Participating in setting the engagement POA and play important role in its execution.
  • Play important role in engaging his/her customers via real bold partnership programs.
  • Explore more business opportunities and expand the scope of his/her reach.

Tasks are performed under the general direction of the category manager; however, the incumbent is fully responsible for the business and financial results of his/her geographical territory.

Responsible for Budget achievement including, % Growth, % Market Share., Evolution index (IMS Parameters) for his/her area.
