Position Summary

Apply skills and aptitude to repair, install, troubleshoot and perform other predictive and preventative maintenance tasks on control systems, electrical, pneumatic, or mechanical on measurement facilities, natural gas compressor station, gas and fire detection systems and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generators, air compressors, pumps, valves, valve operators, filters, scrubbers, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities

Functions

  • Conduct all cathodic protection related monitoring, surveys, and inspection
  • Troubleshoot cathodic protection failures and provide necessary report to Qatar Petroleum
  • Conduct routine site CP surveys and corrosion monitoring surveys
  • Report the inspection findings to Qatar Petroleum
  • Rectify any anomalies and maintain the integrity of CP systems and internal corrosion monitoring systems
    Safety Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to as far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment. Other Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company. Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

    • Employee hired as or promoted to the Corrosion Tech must have a minimum of 2 years pipeline related experience.

This position involves work on and offshore.

Functions

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Discipline Inspectors Instrumentation Inspection shall include (but not be limited to):

Control Center including

    • Storage of received equipment
    • Installation of panel board, console, rack, etc.
    • Control center wiring
    • Testing (continuity, insulation resistance, etc.).

Instrument Pressure Lines including

    • Visual inspection of tag numbers, dip high and low pressure, slope, support, material & rating, purging requirements,
    • Pressure & leak tests. Wiring including
    • Cable identification & tag no.
    • Installation
    • Cable gland and sealing
    • Line-line and line-ground resistance
    • Testing (continuity, insulation resistance, etc.)

Signal lines including

    • Inspection of materials
    • Installation of tubing, fitting, valves)
    • Witness air blow
    • Leak tests
    • Continuity tests.

Loop Tests including

    • Input/output signal loops.
    • Calibration of instruments including all digital and analog instruments, control valves either pre-installed or instruments installed at site.
    • Installation of instruments including (18) verification of correct instruments, stands, etc.
    • Review Disciplines’ Quality Control Documentation for Completeness

Safety

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Other

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.

    • Employee shall report the results of all vendor and construction site inspections on a weekly basis or more frequently as advised by client for a specific task. Inspection reports shall clearly show the items / activities inspected, inspection status, acceptance criteria, and follow-up action as necessary. Inspection reports shall be in a paper or electronic format as agreed to by client.

Duties & Responsibilities

Functions

Switchgear & MCCs including:

  • Electrical inspection shall include (but not be limited to):
  • Circuit breaker and contractor setting & trip check, installation, alignment, and level, ancillary installation, and busbar connection.
  • Power and control cable termination
  • Wiring check
  • Insulation resistance
  • Calibration of meters, relays switchgear

    Electrical Inspections activities
  • Cable trays and trenches inspection, insulation resistance test, grounding continuity, cable identification and condition.

  • Cable type and location, verify circuit identification, check seals, glands and inspect termination.
  • Fire Alarm Systems component checks and installation and testing.
  • CCTV Systems equipment inspections, installation and testing of system.
  • Control panels inspections, installation and testing.
  • Batteries and chargers confirm ratting, cable connections and proper installation testing. Confirm charge and electrolyte level.
  • Lighting confirms area classification, verify equipment and locations, weatherproofing, operation and setting of time switches. System testing and nighttime illumination check.
