Position : Mechanical Technician

Function : Mechanical Maintenance

Purpose (Sum up the position using one or two sentences)

Performs the corrective, preventive and ameliorative maintenance of the equipment in compliance with the objectives developed and set in quantity, quality and delays. He applies security, environment and prevention rules within his work environment.

Areas of responsibility (Use active verbs to define areas of responsibility and especially the weight of each responsibility : “Manage”, “Support”, “Participate”; “Is responsible for”, “Is in charge of”, “Promote”, “Contribute” etc.)

  • Attend the breakdown in the machine
  • Perform the preventive maintenance of the machine
  • Inform in advance to the Supervisor about any spares which is required to solve the machine problem
  • Assist the Utility Operators and guide them randomly
  • Inspect the utilities on a regular basis and maintain the logbook for the same
  • Inspect each and every machine for any abnormal sound, oil leakage, ari leakage etc and to inform Supervisor immediately
  • Maintain the shift report on a daily basis
  • Raise a memo for any spare parts to be issued from the store for the machine
  • Make a logical approach Mechanically and Electrically to solve the problem in the machine and inform Supervisor accordingly if it is beyond their level.
  • Write clear instruction for the next shioft for any pending job in a logbook abd record all the data whatever is monitored
  • Report to Maintenance Deputy Supervisor or Supervisor for the daily activities
  • Obeserve and implement safety as per company standard

Position : Cable Design Engineer

Function : Technical Services
Country : Qatar

Purpose

Member of the Technical Department, to give all the technical support to Plant team, Sales Department in addition to customers.

Support sales activities of LV,MV&HV cables by providing optimum cable design meeting customer’s specifications as well as provides after sales services to customers.

Initiate and follow-up all product designing activities (Design and Development) to ensure new products are produced according product design. Activities include identification of requirements for products based on projects and products based on costumers Specification: defining input parameters, acceptance criteria, test limits, verification, approving and releasing the final design of the products in the form of Design Sheet (DS) for production.

Areas of responsibility

Study international standards along with customers specifications
Ensure to work with updated international standards & specifications.
Review technical specifications received from sales for non-standard products, review the customer requirements, and study manufacturing possibilities based on machinery and testing and accordingly recommend to sales to accept or decline the customer’s request for the quantities.
Develop product manufacturing specifications according to customers’ requirements.
Provide a cable Design sheet (DS) that contains the cable dimension/structure and bill of materials (BOM) to list the material required to manufacture a specific cable designed and other technical data required by logistics/Planning to determine material availability, delivery schedule, and manufacturing data (Routing)to determine product cost for quotation to the customer.
Initiate and follow-up all product designing activities by releasing trial (Design and Developed) for the New Family Products according to the company design and development procedure, then review the Inspection and Test Specification and put the acceptance criteria for manufacturing and testing the product as part of product Design approval.
Make final assessment/evaluation and prepare a summary of the results of actual measurements made on the manufactured products and discuss the result with the Head of Technical Department for granting approval, disapproval or recommended further revision in design for re-manufacturing.
Use existing software in the technical department and work on to their upgrade to reach higher efficiency.
Ensure good flow of information between technical, production, supply chain, and sales.
Participate in creating material specifications.
Participate in reviewing the design sheets regularly to be cost-efficient and avoid over quality compared to standards.
Review and update company catalogs as and when required.
Participate in preparation and attendance of technical meetings, seminars, and exhibitions whenever needed.

  • Optimize feeding and loading of factory (with special focus on bottleneck machines) and Work In Progress stock
  • Update daily the production schedule in ORTEMS

Master Production Scheduling Management

  • Deploy Sales & Operative Plans (S&OP) forecast by reference and by week
  • Manage plant bottleneck (loading and feeding)
  • Ensure the schedule feasibility by identifying capacity, resources, and available inventories
  • Supervise with Production and Support Functions (Maintenance, Quality…) daily output with a particular focus on commitment,
  • bottleneck management, and inventory level respect
  • Make sure that customer expectations are well known at the shop floor level
  • Participate in daily Plant SQDCE Meetings and animate the “D” (Delivery) section of SQDCE

Master Production Scheduling Execution

  • Provide weekly machines schedule plan to operation team
  • Analyze production backlog and propose a list of orders for launching
  • Prepare and Issue Machine Schedule Cards to Production
  • Provide daily targets to Production on bottleneck/critical machines
  • Optimize the schedule based on the required criteria

Performance Monitoring

  • Measures Master Production Schedule Adherence and proposes actions to close the gaps
  • Prepare Reporting Gap Analysis and Propose an actions plan related to his/her scope
  • Optimizes resources on his/her perimeter
  • Proposes actions to maintain levels of inventories as per required target(s)

Application of standards

  • Ensure Master Data Alignment (Routings, BOMs…)
  • Prepare an action plan to correct data not inline with standards
  • Suggests regular continuous improvement on his perimeter

Purpose

The QICC CEO and GCC General Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing the operational, financial and legal affairs of QICC and for developing Nexans business in GCC sub area.

Areas of responsibility

  • Responsible for maintaining at all times a good relationship with the principal Shareholder of QICC and its representatives, and for ensuring that they are informed of Company affairs to their entire satisfaction.
