Morson International Qatar Job Description
The Technical Institute Academic Manager is responsible for the Leadership and Management
of the Technical Institute’s English, Mathematics and Science programs. Additionally, the role
will own the Technical Institute’s Higher Education offerings, from conception to
implementation, in support of the Technical Institute Strategy.
Working closely with the Vocational Training Manager, the role will proactively engage to
determine the ‘best fit’ for all new and emerging training requirements.
The Academic Manager will engage with external providers to develop a solution that satisfies
the requirements for all contracted training requirements whilst exploring opportunities for a
more comprehensive and holistic Higher Education solution, aligned to the Framework for
Higher Education Qualifications in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The role is required to work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all solutions are
delivered to time, quality, and cost expectations. Engaging with the Technical Institute
Management team, the Academic Manager will ensure all Technical Institute functions remain
informed and the approach to training is consistent across both the vocational and academic
Working alongside the Engineering Manager, the role will be responsible for assuring the health,
safety and quality of the Technical Institute academic offering whilst ensuring the correct
governance processes and procedures are flowed down effectively, to the training delivery
Customer engagement is essential, and the Academic Manager is required to proactively engage
with the QAF team regarding future student throughput and customer requirements.
- Leadership and Management of personnel within the academic training delivery
stream, ensuring student success.
- Implementation of a comprehensive Learning and Development plan for personnel for
whom they are responsible.
- Identification and recruitment of suitably qualified and experienced personnel in
support of the Technical Institute academic deliverables.
- Manage and periodically review the academic programs to meet curriculum goals and
improve the training and services the Technical Institute offers.
- Assisting in the accreditation process, ensuring the Technical Institutes programs
deliver internationally recognized qualifications.
- Proactively engage with the QAF to deliver student reports and to identify the
requirement for interventions against student progress.
- Present all relevant information to the Technical Institute Management team and the
QAF, regarding student progress, successes, and concerns.
To be successful in this role you will need minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a Higher Education institution with experience of managing the development of courseware and instructional media in a training institution. Ability to communicate with judgement, diplomacy, and tact with clients from different cultures is essential.
- Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline.
- Thorough knowledge of UK Education System.
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite and database experience).
- Experience in resolving complex project problems whilst managing customer
expectations in a fast-paced environment.
