Engineering Supervisor

What you will be doing: 

  • Supervise and control the preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain the gymnasium equipment to the highest standard. 
  • Maintain, repair, and attend to routine and planned maintenance, maintenance requests.
  • Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance as per manuals/schedules. 
  • Maintains the plants and machinery to the highest standards including water tanks     
  • To be fully versed and capable in kitchen gas and electrical equipment, Linen room equipment, electrical, plumbing, repairs of motors, pumps and any other related work to the designated areas. 
  • Advise Engineering Shift in-charge on day to day operations/defects through the relevant log sheet and verbally as well.
  • To strive to become an independent mechanic, able to analyze problems and to formulate plans to get work done quickly a high degree of quality.   

Public Areas – plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing and/or adjusting all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment, pump, generator, mechanic equipments and cosmetic items.     

Tools – to clean, lubricate, protect and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel. To see that all tools used are returned to the shop and secured in proper storage area. To protect and otherwise maintain your assigned tool pouch and its tools at the discretion of the Engineering Management.    

Records – to read, log, track and interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring units. To maintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems that occur and to ensure this information is passed on to other shifts.                                              

Departmental Duties – to share clean all engineering areas as directed by Engineering Management. To work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well organized. To serve as otherwise directed or needed to help maintain the effective and efficient operation of the hotel. This assignment shall be at the discretion of Engineering Management or the hotel General Manager.

General – Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional                    

Your experience and skills include: 

  •  Knowledgeable in hospitality industries.
  •  Ability to speak clearly English, Local language an advantage
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules (i.e. Lock-out, Tag-out), safety awareness basic information, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  •  Ability to write routine reports, keep logs and correspondence.    

Your team and working environment: 

Maintain communications with team members and leaders to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available and in order. Follow up on any items that may be on back order. Keep engineer updated on assignments. Provide training and technical advice to other engineers as needed or requested. . Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.

  • Assist the Laundry Manager in managing the aspects of the Laundry operation, ensuring service standards are followed.
  • Assist in the administration and management of the Laundry operation.
  • Conduct monthly linen inventories and communicate the same to the appropriate leaders.

  • Conduct regular inspections of guestrooms.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for achieving hotel targets by optimizing revenues through the deployment accounts, as well as prospecting new business through the source markets assigned. The key measurement of performance will be performance versus the revenue goals
  • Responsible for key accounts management with assigned list of global, regional accounts within various geographic area, ensuring revenue maximization, achievement of personal targets and increasing the market share for corporate segment either business travelers or MICE
  • Responsible for prospecting new accounts and qualifying volume producer accounts
  • Responsible for the corporate performance, establish/maintain business relationship with global buyers through head/regional offices
  • Conduct site inspections and participate in travel shows, GSO activities
  • Manage TMCs key accounts, to enhance the corporate production through GDS channel
  • Total Account Management experience with 360 degrees’ strategy, efforts versus results
  • Detailed knowledge of all services are provided by the Hotel to be positioned as value add or direct selling products
  • Responsible for timely contracting from the client base responsible for and managing global RFPs with needed actions locally/regionally/globally
  • Managing relationship with Global Sales Organization to enhance corporate segment performance and organize monthly/quarterly activities
  • Accounts’ business reviews with strategic business partners to evaluate the performance and build/enhance the accounts’ commercial plan accordingly
  • SMART contracting to ensure optimum yielding during annual rate negotiations
  • Attend trade shows, sales blitz, workshops, etc. in the assigned markets
  • Assist the Director of Sales in defining the corporate sales plan and execute set actions accordingly
  • SMART goal setting with weekly/monthly/quarterly plan

Your experience and skills include:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in a Sales position, preferably in a global hotel chain
  • Local market experience and UAE, GCC market knowledge are preferred
  • Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
  • Professional communication skills with consumers, stakeholders and regional office
  • Confident personality with leadership skills with good presentation skills
  • English – excellent oral and written skills
  • Computer literacy adapted to the field of Sales: strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word)
  • Familiar with Accor Tools (Global RFPs, Cvent, ANAIS etc.)
  • Self-motivated personality and a great team player, who is supporting the team members and coaching them with previous experience
