The role will proactively work alongside Relationship Managers enabling them to deliver best in class service to existing and prospective customers whilst maintaining robust oversight and risk management to drive both growth and risk objectives.

The role holder will provide extensive support and is accountable for the end-to-end credit application process including, preparation of credit applications based on thorough analysis of the financial reports, research and other data sources / market intelligence, credit related operations, facilitating timely execution of facility offer letters and draw downs, liaising with onshore/offshore credit support teams, etc.

In this role, you will:

  • Obtain, research and analyze customer information (financial and non-financial) to prepare high quality and professional applications for credit facilities to meet identified customer needs.
  • Undertake the appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for prospective customers.
  • Support Relationship Managers in ensuring correct identification of customer needs and delivery of tailored solutions, products and services to meet such needs.
  • Perform all relevant checks and reviews periodically to ensure fraud and operational losses are minimized
  • Ensure timely periodic review of CARMs for the assigned portfolio / pool of Relationship Managers
  • Adhere to structures and processes in place for management of credit, operational, reputation and regulatory risk.
  • Ensure credit and operational quality is not compromised in pursuit of revenues and profitability
  • Manage all relevant documentation, information on relevant systems, coordination with product partners to satisfactorily meet internal requirements and customer expectations
  • Participate in discussions with clients alongside the Relationship Managers to gain deeper understanding of the relationships and apply acquired knowledge and insights to better support clients

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Credit and Risk management
  • Qatar & Local Market Knowledge /Experience
  • Having an understanding of the trade cycle and full suite of GTRF products
  • Sound knowledge of the Commercial Banking structure, products and services
  • Appreciation of the changing economic, social and governmental environment in Qatar
  • Knowledge of international business and various industry sectors
  • Knowledge and experience of using CARM, Omnia, HUB, CME, HFE, Client Vision and other relevant systems.
  • Experience in a Credit Analyst role
  • Experience of professional interaction with financial services customers
  • Developing professional expertise and credibility within business
  • Strong ‘team’ skills promoting an environment of co-operation and trust, overcoming resistance where encountered
  • Possess analytical and financial skills
  • Good prioritising, organisational and time management abilities
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Assist in Sales Floor Management periodically and on a need base counter and teller positions with support on cash and cheque transactions
